Every year the Greek Archbishop comes down to Tarpon Springs, Florida for Epiphany. After celebrating the Divine Liturgy and the blessing of the water in the cathedral, the Archbishop leads a procession to a local bayou where more water is blessed, and then a wooden cross is tossed in. Local boys dive in to retrieve it. Tarpon Springs is lovely, and I highly recommend that Orthodox Christians in Central Florida visit there at least once on Epiphany. Get there early though, the church fills up and spills over into the street!
